Ross Perrett busy in Indonesia
Having completed over 15 courses in Indonesia in the 1990’s, Thomson Perrett are pleased to back working in Indonesia which has always been one our favourite countries to work in. Currently we are involved in two projects in Java – the construction of the redesigned East Course at Gunung Geulis in Bogor and the design of 27 holes at Giri Gahana in Bandung. In addition we are advising the Government of Banda Aceh ‘pro-bono’ on the redevelopment of the Lohknga Beach course which was totally destroyed by the 2004 Tsunami.
Ross has just returned from a week in Indonesia where he inspected the progress of the construction of the TP redesigned East Course at the Gunung Geulis Resort in Bogor. During this visit he reviewed the grow-in of the completed holes and oversaw the construction of bunkers on holes 1,2,4,5,6 and 9.
Construction should be completed by the end of the year with the course opening scheduled for April 2017.
The photo below shows the spectacular downhill Par 3 5th hole under construction.
It is being built on a peninsula on the seasonally turbulent Cikeas River which necessitated the use of a large rock gabion structure to protect the green during the wet season.
